Key Benefits of Carbon Fiber

  • Strength
    Typical CF has a tensile strength of 500,000 psi compared to 100,000 for steel and 5,000 psi for Nylon. Strengths up to 900,000 psi are available.
  • Low Stretch
    Typical CF has tensile modulus of 30 million psi which is the same as steel. Fiber of over 120 million is available.
  • Density
    Density of CF is 1.8 g/cc where steel is 6.7 g/cc.
  • Twisting
    Twisting of the fibers provides even spread of tensile forces to all filaments to prevent breakage even when the bundle wraps around a radius.
  •   Special Coatings
    Custom coatings made to your specs and application
  • Weight
    Carbon is extremely light and a fraction of the weight of comparable materials.
